Febour new home :)
still settling in, customizing the site to our liking, and working out the kinks - the most important being allowing readers to leave comments. i really do love getting emails for new comments on our blog, so please don’t be shy and feel free to leave a line or two saying hello, we’d love to hear from you! :)
currently there is a threat of being snowed in! weather says we should be getting snow all week, but hopefully that will not interfere with our florida vacation. for those not in new england, our winter has been bleak, even the farmer’s almanac was wrong this year unless we are in for a big treat in april. it’s still cold though, so i’m very much looking forward to our vacation. afterward, ben is heading out to the west coast for a ski weekend, and i am updating my spring wardrobe. it will be the weekend of respecting differences
with all the wedding planning, i’ve been getting a lot of help. one of my bridesmaids subscribed to a website that gives tips on how to save money when planning your wedding. this company also sends weekly wedding quotes. sometimes inspirational and touching, but sometimes like this:
“to keep your marriage brimming, with love in the wedding cup, whenever you’re wrong, admit it; whenever you’re right, shut up.” ~ogden nash
this may come in handy with the wedding planning. we also have other great resources. my cousin gave ben a book called “a groom’s guide to wedding planning” and i will encourage ben to read it during times other than being in the bathroom. i think the word “bridezilla” is mentioned a few times, and something like “always love her no matter what…” it’s a fantastic book
more updates to come! we will be adding more to our website as we go along

FebJune 18, 2011!
After much scrutinizing with the calendar, we have set our wedding date! (one check off the to-do list, many more to tackle) yay! we are now looking to find the best place to say “i do!”
here are some locations we are perusing:
Bucksteep Manor (Washington, MA) - beautiful location, and we can have our reception in a joint barn/tent/deck! Sounds like a great opportunity to let us be creative.
Seven Hills Inn (Lenox, MA) - a wonderfully managed mansion with TONS of land to use! Talking to the inn keeper about our wedding was so easy and she was so friendly. Definitely makes for a great first impression!
Cooper Hill Inn (East Dover, VT) - one of our top choices. The inn is set on a hill providing incredible views with Mount Snow on one side and fields and valleys on another. They’re also open to let us organize the wedding the way we want.
Colonel Williams Inn (Marlboro, VT) - also another location with a barn reception. This place is a little better distance-wise for our families. I don’t know much about it, but it looks low-key and pretty.
Hopefully my next post will announce our wedding location! we are going on vacation next week (ft. lauderdale and key west!), so no wedding stuff allowed. just some sun soaking, warm weather, and maybe snorkeling. the last time i went snorkeling, i got seasick :\ hopefully the waters will be nicer to me this time around.
